Increasing efficiency of Tabulate Intersection by splitting polygon feature with grid

Good afternoon!

I am currently attempting to determine the proportion of area within a large number of buffers (zones) taken up by polygons (features). I dissolved the polygons into one large feature, and used Tabulate Intersection, but this proved quite inefficient.

I read a previous post recommending that the polygon(s) be split into "pieces" (e.g. using a grid) to make the process more efficient. Here is the post: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-questions/tabulate-intersection-reading-more-features-than/....

What I have done is used the extent of the area with the buffers and polygon feature to create a grid (currently running), with the plan of running a tabulate intersection with the buffers as my zone and the grids with the polygon "pieces" as the input. However, I am open to alternatives!

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
