Hello, Maps for Adobe Community,

We have received intermittent reports from users about an issue when using Maps for Adobe extension to open an AIX file exported from ArcGIS Pro or to sync a map directly from the extension. When the issue occurs, users receive a blank document in Illustrator. Our team is actively working with Adobe to investigate the cause of this problem and will post updates when we have any. While a solution has not been made yet, we would like to share some information that might help you work around the problem.

Environment: Illustrator 2023 (v27.2 and above) on Windows or macOS.

Symptom: A blank file opened in Illustrator when you open an AIX file or sync a map from the extension.

Workaround: Use a version of Illustrator prior to 2023 (v27.2). We observe consistent results on Illustrator long-term support version 2022 (v26.5.2)

Steps

  1. Uninstall ArcGIS Maps for Adobe from your machine
  2. Install an earlier version of Illustrator, e.g. Illustrator's long-term support version 2022 (v26.5.2) (you can run multiple versions of Illustrator).
  3. Download the latest version of ArcGIS Maps for Adobe from the Esri product page and reinstall the extension

(Optional): Once you successfully open the AIX file or sync a map in Illustrator 2022 (v26.5.2), you can save it as an AI file. open the file in your preferred version of Illustrator, and continue your design work there.

Sorry for the inconvenience. We will keep you updated when we have more info.
