I recently configured some Events in my Indoors space. Some of them were assigned to units which are reservable and categorised as Meeting Rooms. From this experience it seems that the Event has no impact on the room's schedule. When I go to book a meeting for the same time/date in the same room, it still shows as available despite there being an Event scheduled.
It would be helpful if the Events and Reservations layers communicated these bookings to one another. One use case would be using Events to bulk load in priority timetabling, done by admins, and then have the option for users to make Meeting Room bookings for any leftover spare rooms.
