We are using Indoors with Field Maps for collection.
When using Field Maps Mobile App and ArcGIS Enterprise in conjunction with Indoors floor-aware maps, the Bookmark function does not capture the Floor Picker setting, so while you can zoom to the correct location on the map, you may not find the desired information, because it resides on a different floor. We are implementing Field Maps for both indoor and outdoor collection and verification surveys. Sites can include multiple buildings with 1 to many floors. With limited time on site, Bookmarks identify critical locations within a complex of buildings that must be collected in great detail. They can also be used to mark where you stopped collection for the day, so you can return the next day to continue collecting where you left off. If Bookmarks could capture specific LevelID and feed that parameter to the Floor Picker widget, that would be awesome.
In the final web map product of the survey, Bookmarks are created for critical locations within the site important to crisis responders. We love that our maps have become less complex, our 45 feature classes can be visualized once, and the Floor Picker can set the site, facility, and floor. In the past the floors were replicated in the map so they could be turned on and off as needed to see the selected level. Imagine 18 stories with all 45 features per floor would equate to 810 layers for that building. Add to that, other buildings at the site, plus we collect outdoors features as well. Final products usually have 30 to 50 Bookmarks coded with the specific layers to turn on within that long list of layers. On the new floor-aware maps, the outdoor bookmarks should not be a problem, but indoor bookmarks would need the floor aware parameter if the building has multiple floors.
We have tested:
Added floor-specific location as a bookmark in Web Map that services Field Map
Refreshed Field Map in Android and checked the bookmarks.
Within the Field Map: Pointed to the correct location but didn’t honor the right floor level.
Within the Web Map: Pointed to the correct location but didn’t honor the right floor level.
It would be great if these two tools could work together.
