I may be overthinking the solution here, but I'm at a loss currently.
I am trying to connect filter categories (via sidebar, category selector, grouped values) to the associated web map. The data layer is represented via single symbols and I'm hoping to connect via actions so that when I select one or more filters, the points with said data are highlighted or even change color ideally.
For example:
one of my filters is 'Age' and there are 42K + records displayed. I went into the Age filter to actions and toggled the map and associated data layer. I tried both options of 'fields' and 'spatial.' I then went into map actions and turned on the 'age' category. Nothing seems to happen though.
I played with zoom, pan, and flash as well but these just select the whole area that the dataset is in. This is basically census data that I'm working with which is why it flashes the whole dataset because there are people +55 years old all over that area.
