HI Peter, It looks like in the case of your map, you are using feature collections on the map. Only map services and feature services are able to be used as data inputs for elements in Operations Dashboard. Here's some additional information on data sources within Dashboard- Understand data sources—Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS | ArcGIS Thanks, Chris

Thanks. Can you see if making them data sources (checking the box on) helps, and if the problem also happens in the browser version? Also, does the service come from an ArcGIS Server connection or from a hosted layer? Can you share the link?

@Elba are you seeing this issue as well? If so, I do have some follow up questions: I'm assuming this is happening in the old desktop application- are the problem layers set as data sources (and if not, can you try setting them as data sources)? Do they come from map or feature services? Are the services part of a network or similar service? Is the issue reproducible in the web version of the same op view? Is the issue reproducible in the new Operations Dashboard? Thanks! Chris

Hi Trisha, There are some known issues with crashes caused by the WPF app. Here are a couple of KB articles that discuss how to fix them, if they are effecting your environment: Problem: Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS crashes when running on a virtual machine (it says virtual machine, but could also apply to standard desktop machines as well) Problem: Unable to load custom extensions after installing and launching Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS (if your machine has dual video cards installed, this will help fix crash/load issues) Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! Chris

Hi Matt, In some cases when the browser real estate becomes too small, or when you have a set a higher browser zoom level, you will see type of behavior in the visual elements. For the most part, the newly released Operations Dashboard does a good job at being flexible in displaying the data within the element, but we recommend that when you author a dashboard, that you do it in a similar visual environment as what the end user will see so that you can adjust the visual settings, like size of text. For instance, in your last example, it might be better to move the the chart or gauges onto other parts of the browser, rather than having so many in the left. Besides changing the title text in the element to be smaller, you could also consider removing the 'last update' text if it's not needed (in your case it still might be relevant considering if the viewer needed the last known frequency). Here are some other best practices when creating a dashboard: Author effective dashboards—Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS | ArcGIS

Hi Kathleen, The description widget only has the ability to open in a new window, and I think this is the most common workflow. Otherwise, you would lose your dashboard view and just have the hyperlink open and then if you needed to go back, it would have to reload the dashboard. Can you describe the need you have for it to open on the same window (and thus close the dashboard view)? Thanks, Chris

This is still an issue with the old desktop Operations Dashboard, yes. However, we have fixed in the new Dashboard (beta) and this will be available soon. Thanks! Chris

What kind of web app are you using? Do you know if behaves the same if you embed other apps within it, like WAB or similar? The Dashboard app is just part of the suite of Esri apps, so I would be curious to see if it was acting differently... Thanks! Chris

Hi Ammar, Even if the operation view is shared publicly, the data will also need to be shared to Everyone as well. You can enable public access by clicking Update Sharing (from the Share tab in Operations Dashboard desktop) or you can manually update the sharing capabilities from each item in the org's content page. Keep in mind, if you are not the owner of an item, you cannot change it's sharing capabilities. I hope this helps! Thanks, Chris

Hi Luiz, The beta is currently available to anyone with an AGOL account. When we release the finished version, it will be available on AGOL first, and followed up with an Enterprise (Portal) release shortly after. Thanks, Chris

Hi Joe, This error has come up in the beta forums and we have seen it internally as well. There's a lot of ways it can happen and we're investigating them. I'll send you a PM as a follow up. -Chris

HI James- No, you don't have to rebuild it. I'm not sure if you are meaning an op view or dashboard, so I'll include both answers here: 1. Operation View (desktop): Edit the view, and click on the gear icon (Map Settings) above the map. This opens the Data Sources window. The new layer will be present as a data source. Check the box. Then, either edit an existing or create a new widget using that data source. 2. Dashboard (new beta in browser): In the Config of the visualization, click the Change button. Select the layer from the webmap list and click ok. I hope this helps! Thanks Chris

Hi Ken, Can you try the solution in this KB article? Problem: Unable to load custom extensions after installing and launching Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS I think this is what is causing your issue. Thanks, Chris

You can officially sign up for the beta here, where you have access to documentation, beta user forums, updates, etc. But to begin using the software, you just need to sign into your ArcGIS Online org to get started. The details are outlined here: https://community.esri.com/community/gis/applications/operations-dashboard-for-arcgis/blog/2017/08/07/author-beautiful-dashboards-in-your-browser-with-operations-dashboard-for-arcgis
