We are working on some projects around attribute rules and contingent values with Hosted Feature Layers. Keep an eye on these ideas for an update on timeline and please share your specific workflow so we can incorporate our testing and planning with your usecase. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-online-ideas/support-for-contingent-values-in-arcgis-online/idi-p/970749 https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-online-ideas/support-for-attribute-rules-in-arcgis-online/idi-p/935824

Feature Layers in ArcGIS Online have a powerful set of editing settings that empower users to collect and edits data in securely and in specific ways. Ownership-based access settings can be particularly useful for datasets where authenticated users submit information that is either private or needs to be validated before being shown to a larger audience. To enable ownership based access on a layer, first editing and editor tracking must be enabled on the layer as illustrated in the screen capture below: Once editing and editor tracking is turned on, you can select which ownership based capabilities to turn on the layer as specified below: Option A: Editors can only see their own features (requires tracking) This setting is recommended for use when data entered by an editor is private or needs to be verified before displaying entered data publicly. When this setting is used, the member who added the feature is recorded and only the creator and service owner/administrator will be able to see the data entries. As an example: during an initial field work, this setting can be used to enable users to review only their entries to the dataset. Option B: Editors can only edit their own features (requires tracking)This setting determines what features a user can edit. In the same scenario mentioned above, users may want to be able to see all of the entries in the dataset by many users but should only have the ability to edit and update their own features. This allows the data collectors to fix typos and errors in their data without having the ability to modify the entire dataset. Option C: Anonymous editors: Only add new features, if allowed above (required tracking) This setting makes it possible to apply different editing capabilities for users who have signed into ArcGIS Online vs. those who are accessing the layer or application without authenticating. When using this setting, anonymous users can only add new features, while authenticated users can edit their own features or others depending on the option B setting. How to disable owner-based access on a layer When ownership based access is enabled on a layer, these types or queries cannot be cached. For this reason, it isn't recommended to enable this setting on layers that are anticipated to be shared with a large public audience. If it is required to disable ownership based access settings on a layer, follow the steps below: 1. Identify that editor tracking is enabled on the layer. Keep in mind that this is a setting that can be inherited from a source feature layer, or the setting may have been enabled previously when the layer was editable, so the setting may appear checked, even when editing is disabled on the view: 2. Check on the option to enable editing (just for a minute). 3. Verify/modify the ownership based access settings are switched to the defaults outlined in the identified in the second screenshot 4. Disable Editing on the layer. How do you use Ownership-Based Editing/ Viewing in your organization?

It's not really a feature or a bug. Most likely the cause is that you have esri access enabled on the username when you deleted the account. If this is the case, the account is converted to a public account and the Username is still used, so cannot be re-used. If you still know the username and password, we can go through a process to fully remove the account to free up the username. Come by the Online showcase, and I can walk you through some examples. Looking forward to seeing you as always. -Kelly

HI Jim, This sounds like a bug to me. If you are permitted to overwrite the layer, it shouldn't corrupt the view. I'd like someone to look into your usecase further. Can you get in touch with tech support to make sure it gets logged? -Kelly

Hi, Matt Martin/USA Martin, I'm looking into your questions with the Python API. Will let you know when I have more information. Reina Murray, there is a 10k limit to the amount of records that can be retrieved in a single request. I would recommend either using a filter like search only for login actions to try to limit the query, or make multiple requests to the history api on different dates. This way you can break up your requests so they don't exceed the 10K limit. The limit ensures that data queried through this API is performant, so therefor will need logic to parse through different days if you do want to collect and analyze these actions.

Hi Pat, There isn't a way to do this currently. If your layer is public, it could be used in a variety of different applications. There are some partner tools that can help you locate where layers are used in your organization which could be helpful. A way to identify layers that are being used is to look at the usage tab on the layer. This will show you how often and how recently requests to your layers have been made. This is something we are looking to improve in the future. Please support this idea and share your what you are trying to accomplish in the comments. Provide a warning about dependent items when deleting an ArcGIS Online feature service

How would you want the user to open the link? By clicking on the feature in the web map? Could you provide more details about your desired workflow from end to end? If it is search related, there are some ways to open the map with a specific pop-up opened. I don't recommend and it isn't currently possible to have a new URL opened when a feature is clicked on in the map. This allows users can explore the information about a feature that is contained in the pop up. I'm wondering if a web app may help to achieve your workflow. Thanks, Kelly

Hi Thomas, The storage and quota values refer to the total storage available in the organization and used storage. This includes all storage, including file and feature storage. This value is specifically kept for public accounts, where users have a limit of 2GB of total storage per account. When looking at organization accounts, this value is less useful, as the quota and usage are for the entire organization. So you will get the same values when you query each user. The default storage is quota is 2 TB, and the storage usage is the total amount used by the entire organization. Can you describe what you are looking to find out about storage in your organization? I'd like to see if there is another way to find the information that you are looking for. Perhaps feature storage reports may be helpful as they indicate the name of the feature service, amount of storage and owner of the data. Check out this blog for more details: Understanding Feature Storage Reports (December 2016) Thanks, Kelly

Hi Dan, Sorry about the late reply. The bug I mentioned above has been resolved. Are you still able to reproduce this issue? If you are, can you get in contact with Tech support as something doesn't seem quite right with what you are experiencing. It would be great to look into it further to try to diagnose what is happening. -Kelly
