Hi all,

I'm currently looking for any information on learning how to code in the programming language of python. I'd say I'm at the intermediate level of understanding how to program in any given language given that I know and understand the syntax for that particular language. The languages I'm currently able to code in (to some extend) are: C++, Java, Html and MATLAB.

Any information on good books to buy or websites to visit or even personal experiences are welcome.

Thank you for your time,

Jordan McMillan

I started learning Python on Learn to code | Codecademy.  It isn't GIS specific, but very helpful with fundamentals.

Yes! http://www.codecademy.com/ is a very good site to use and it's free which makes it even more fantastic. I've actually already played around with this site before. The website offers more programming languages than python such as HTML, CSS, javascript and PHP just to name a few. I eventually plan on completing all of the these "skills" as they are called on the website. Knowledge is power!

Thank you for your response.
