Tracking users with ArcGIS Pro org licenses on personal software

Hello everyone!

I have a strange situation that I might have to just not worry too much about - but curious if anyone else has this scenario.

We typically don't allow college software to be installed on personal laptops for a variety of reasons (it might be a licensing requirement, we're not bonded to repair personal computers if there are hardware issues, wanting to control the support we have for equipment, etc.). For this reason, we only install ArcGIS on college-owned computers.

We do checkout laptops to anyone with a camps account, so if someone needs a laptop, we can install ArcGIS on an college-laptop and they can use that.

I have one user that is refusing to use a college-owned computer, so they install their own copy of ArcGIS Pro (probably from a personal license) and then log into is using their organization account. I know in the grand scheme of things, there is not much I can do about it. But the main issue I'm concerned about is:

* It's not registering in the admin when they are using the license, and I know they are logging into ArcGIS Pro on their computer. So I'm not sure if it's because they are using a download from a different place other than our org downloads.
* If something happens with the software on their personal computer, it might put us on the hook for having to troubleshoot their computer, and not their college owned machine. For college computers, we can administer to them, but not with personal computers outside of the domain.

I have talked to the user and they still won't switch - so I'm just kind of doing a "use at your own risk" approach", but I don't seem much of a way to prevent them from logging into their org account on non-org licensed software. When we installed ArcGIS using the file downloads, I used to keep a check on the software that way, but now it's out of my hands a bit on the user named licenses.

I hope I explained that in a way that makes sense!

Any advise is welcome. Again - I think I'm probably just going to have to take a "use at your own risk" approach. It's only one user, so it's not a huge deal. Just a weird scenario.

On the user's machine, start Pro and go to the Licensing tab.  What licensing type is being used to start Pro,  Concurrent Use, Single Use or Named User.  If Named User,  it should list the authorizing portal towards the bottom of the window.  If AGOL, it should point to www.arcgis.com.  If so, go to the Portals tab and verify the account used to log into Pro.

Now go to AGOL, www.arcgis.com and log in with one of the admin account.  Determine if that account used is a member in the org.  If is possible the user has a personal account belonging to another org.  You can have the user go to www.arcgis.com on a browser and log in with the same account.  Verify the organization ID.  This may explain why you cannot see it in your own organization.

Yes! That is how I am currently tracking it.

But the last login date for them is over a year old, and I know they've been logging in and using the software (I've visually seen them log in, so I know they are doing it).

There is a disconnect at some point between their login and the license that I can't figure out.

Are you trying to track the the last login date for the license? If so, you should be able to see it on ArcGIS Online.
