Hello everyone!
We currently use Single Use licenses + Named Licenses users in ArcGIS Pro - but I'm experimenting with switching to just Named License users with ArcGIS Online portal:
I noticed that there is a note about identifying workstations - is there some type of app or ESRI software that allows admins to see a list of all workstations that are utilizing the license? I am currently the admin and I don't see anything on ArcGIS Online that does this.
I am mostly asking because we only allow our college software to be installed on college machines - but not on personal machines. So I'm just looking into a way to monitor this if we switched to Named User licenses and the portal.
I don't want to someone to just install it on their personal laptop for a multiple of various reasons. Or try to install it on Mac.
This is probably old news and a really duh question - but just curious if anyone knows.
Thank you!
Solved! Go to Solution.
When you're at the Licenses tab, click on the option to View license activity. That will give you a list of all users who used the NU licenses. If there is a green indicator next to the date, it means the user recently started Pro or currently has it running. If so, you can click on the date to view the Workstation Alias for the Pro session using the license. A red indicator means the user took the licenses offline.
Hi @SaraJL
This is quite easily done with Named User licensing in ArcGIS Online! If you are an Administrator in ArcGIS Online you can find this list of users with the following steps
Click Organisation (if you're not there already):
The click on Licences:
Then identify the licences you want to see who is using, in my case is ArcGIS Pro Advanced and click manage:
Then in the window toggle to the option to Only show members assigned this licence:
This should give you an easy list to identify and manage those with this licence.
I hope that helps!
Thank you for the help!
It looks like I don't have the license option for ArcGIS Pro Advanced - here is what it says:
Beyond members that are assigned a license - I'm looking specifically for workstations!
In the original screenshot - it mentioned in the help tooltip something about allowing the administrator to identify the workstation when managing license sessions. I was just curious if this means there is a way to track workstations/machines accessing the license versus just users?

Excellent! That is exactly what I needed - thank you!
