Exam Purpose
The ArcGIS Utility Network Associate 2024 exam tests the candidate's experience with applying ArcGIS Utility Network concepts and processes to workflows. This exam validates skills related to concepts including editing, analyzing, managing data in a utility network, and performing basic administration tasks.
Target Candidate Audience
The ArcGIS Utility Network Associate 2024 Exam is for anyone who has experience with industry-specific asset management and services-based architecture. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the core utility network information model. Typical roles are Experienced industry specialist, GIS Analyst, GIS Administrator, GIS Manager, GIS Specialist, Geospatial Engineer, GIS Technician.
Description of Qualified Candidate
The qualified candidate should have two to four years of experience with the ArcGIS Utility Network. They should also have industry-specific asset management experience working with ArcGIS in multi-user models. The candidate should have experience with services-based architecture and a strong understanding of the core utility network information model. In addition, the candidate should have experience with basic administration editing, analyzing, and managing data in a utility network.

- Describe the utility network information model including its structure and components
- Demonstrate utility network management experience
- Understand ArcGIS Enterprise data management
- Knowledge of services-based architecture using published services
- Create rules for spatial and association connectivity models
- Apply attribute rules to validate spatial and attribute data with Pro tools
- Apply attribute rules to improve the editing experience and data quality
- Understand network topology workflows
- Configure and perform tracing of utility networks
- Explain implementation of connectivity, container, and attachment associations
- Deploy ArcGIS Utility Network Foundation Solutions
- Understand different user types and their available features
- Understand branch versioning workflows
- Utilize asset package for importing and exporting content and schema between environments
- Create edit templates

- Administrate Database Management Systems
- Migrate source asset data to the utility network data model
- Create Arcade scripts for Attribute Rules
- Automate workflows with ArcGIS tools including Python, Model Builder, Tasks

- Administer ArcGIS Enterprise Portal
- Perform tuning of ArcGIS Server services
- Use functionality outside of a Pro client such as the Rest API, SDKs, create web apps, etc.
