My team and I utilize multiple color and symbol options regarding survey points that show up in the Inbox map view in our current work process.
We would like to add a legend to the map for our users, but don't see any options to do this. Is anyone aware of a way to add a legend to the Survey123 field app Inbox map?
I'm not sure about that... Is there anything preventing you from using ArcGIS Field Maps to edit the data instead? You can view the legend there (see #5: Overflow under Map and panel section of Field Maps docs).
If you must use Survey123, a workaround could be to use labels to display what the different colors/shape intend to indicate.
Thanks for the reply @ToddW_stl. We currently use labels and instance name color coding/status filters in the inbox as well. We utilize Survey for multiple rounds of fielding and the complex relevant logic/calculations we're able to build in. We have tried Field Maps, but it isn't as good of a fit as Survey is for us at the moment (we're focusing mainly on filling in information for points already placed for the user with some pre-populated data, rather than having them placing features on the map and then collecting the information).
I was mainly checking in this forum if we're missing something obvious in Survey regarding the legend before posting this as an idea in the Survey123 ideas forum.
