Hello,
I have a "select one [list_name]" question in my Survey123 Connect form. In addition, I have the appearance for this question set to "minimal" which provides a nice drop-down menu from which my field crews can select one from a list of combinations.
Is it also possible to modify this same question to provide a user with the ability to "type in" a value that is not included on the list?
Thank you in advance.
Jeff

Have you seen these GeoNet Blog postings regarding "Other"?

Joe,
Thank you for the links. No, I had not seen those blog postings. The examples illustrated certainly seem like they could work with my survey. While not extremely complicated to employ, I guess I was hoping I could simply have the user type in the text necessary for their unique situation even though the question is a "select one [list_name]" question. I'm probably trying to do two things in one question that cannot happen.

I think in those links they talk about the trick for this. Create a 3rd field that uses the drop down or other field appropriately. This does have issues though. Mostly no domain values are on that 3rd field. So if you have L Left you would only get the L.
Hope that helps.
That does help, Doug.
Thank you.
