Hi everybody,

i'm developing an application with an ESRI Online service as base map. But i wonder if it's possible to use a map that has been created, for example, in ArcMap, and store it in the iPhone device. This is because i need to develop a section in my app that works in offline mode, so i couldn't connect to Internet in order to get a base map and its layers. All the documentation i have read is about services so i should have Internet.

Thank's in advance!

ArcGIS for iOS does not do any caching that I know of. If you look through some of the older posts on the forum, you will see that quite a few people have asked for offline map caching. It would be a useful feature.

I've started using PDF Maps to accomplish that task. I wish the ESRI app would allow off line caching and to be able to connect to secure services but until then take a look at PDF Maps
