Splitting a polygon with a line in the modelbuilder

Hi everyone,

I need help splitting a polygon in the modelbuilder.

I have a complex polygon which I want to split into two halves using a line. However, this has to happen within a model. Unfortunately, the "Feature in Polygon" tool does not work. Do you have any other ideas?

This is a buffered road network. The buffer should be divided into two parts. Separate buffering of the left and right sides of the road was not possible as the left and right sides alternate in the data.

If the polygons have the correct attributes for splitting, you could use the Split by Attributes (Analysis) GP tool to accomplish this workflow.  It may require you do some attribute editing first on the input polygons though.
