Rescale by function with negative values

Hello! I am creating a habitat model and I would like to incorporate a raster layer with field values that range from about -2 to 2.

Ideally I would like to rescale by the Gaussian function and set the midpoint to zero, so preference will decrease as the values stray farther from zero. However, Pro will not accept values <= 0 for the midpoint field.

I know I can just put the raster through an absolute value calculator and then rescale the resultant layer by Logistic Decay or another function that would give higher preference to the values closest to zero, but that will complicate things if we decided to go with a nonzero preference in future iterations of the model.

Does anyone know of any better workarounds for this? Hopefully my explanation makes sense.
