Presentations: Is there a way to add a legend to the page?

Just got upgraded to 3.3 from 3.1, very excited to play with the new stuff.

In particular, I'm excited for Presentations.

I'm running into the problem of "I can place a map, but I can't communicate to the viewer what is on that map unless I am there to explain it to them".

Is there any way to add a legend (or actually, a straight-up layout would be best) to a presentation?

My current workaround would be to make a layout, export it, and then bring it in as an image, but I think it'd be a lot cleaner to just pull in the layout object directly?

I don't see any direct way to add a Layout Legend element to a Presentation. The Help suggests it can be done as an Image element:

You can include screenshots from other areas of the application that support your presentation by adding them as image elements. For example, you could included specific columns in a table or a legend showing map layer symbology.

You can Insert an image from file or simply Copy | Paste a screen capture either of a Legend element (top) in a Layout or the Contents pane of a Map (bottom) without generating a Layout.  I use Snagit for screen captures.

Hmm. That's kind of gross.
