Hi there, I have a polygon and I would like to edit a portion of it to align with a line. I know I can modify the feature with the reshape tool and trace along the desired line, but the line I need to change is HUGE and this would just be very tedious and time-consuming. I feel like there must be another way.
I had thought I could use the clip tool, but it doesn't appear that I can clip a polygon with a line. I tried buffering the polygon and then using the split tool (in XTools Pro, not ArcPro), thinking it would just give me two polygons as a result and I could delete the undesired portion, but it did not work as expected -- some sections were split as I had hoped, but others were not, meaning I would still have to go in and trace those sections... unless there is another way that I'm just not thinking of.
Thanks for any help.

The Align Edge tool can be helpful when dealing with gaps and overlaps.
@DanPatterson @JenniferCadkin Thank you both so much for your quick replies! I think the snap tool might be perfect for a first pass (waiting to get access to an advanced license to try it out) and then I could use the align edges tool if there are any gaps remaining (still a little time consuming but definitely faster than tracing everything!). Thanks again 🙂
