Every year we get an ortho image of our municipality which we generate publish to an ArcGIS Server as an image service and use for cache services.
It is a mosaic image comprised for SID files. The images are the same resolution every year and the number of tiles delivered is also the same. Last year, when I generated Overviews, it generated about 35 tiff files.
However, this year, it's generating over a 1000 tiff files. In fact, the total size of the overview folder is larger than the total size of the SID files this year.
I generated the footprints using the default settings and calculated statistics. Not sure what's going on but any assistance would be much appreciated.
