I would like to report an issue I encountered while working on a project in an area experiencing subsidence and ground cracking near Aqaba, Jordan. While reviewing the location at the coordinates (29.358631, 34.079007), I noticed that the imagery available in ArcGIS Pro appears to be older and less updated compared to the imagery currently available in Google Earth.

Because the area is undergoing noticeable ground changes, having the most recent imagery is very important for accurate analysis and assessment. Therefore, I kindly request clarification on whether more recent imagery is available for this location in ArcGIS Pro, or if there is a way to access updated basemap imagery through ESRI services.

Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
Eng. Osama Jeries

Hello @AbuJeriesGIS ,

World Imagery and other Basemap are updated every 3 weeks with the information provided by authorati....

If your area has an outdated imagery (which you should be able to check with the identify button), I would assume that the official source for imagery in Jordan hasn't uploaded new data for ESRI to update info with, whereas Google Earth have used satelite images to populate their basemap.

If you urgently need an updated imagery, your best options are either to look for availaible imagery from public agencies (I would guess you are more familiar with Jordan institutions than me) or download public availaible satelite photos of LandSAT or Sentinel (beware that they could require some geoprocessing before they are ready to use and the spatial resolution may not be sufficient for your purposes).

Hopefully this helps.

Kind Regards.

JM

You can also try adding Google Maps basemaps to your ArcPro project, and exporting tiles from Google Earth.  Not as straight forward as the ESRI layers, but it might be a solution for you?

Esri make available all their World View imagery via their Esri World Imagery Wayback webapp (World Imagery Wayback). You will be able to see what images are available for any site since February 2014.

The latest imagery for Aqaba, Jordan, is dated 2025-06-26. They do have imagery available for this site all the way back to February 2014.
