I am stumped. I've used this tool before and it always worked but now it's not.

I am trying to Display XY data in my map. I have an Excel spreadsheet which has lat/long coordinates in it split into it's own column but when I open the Display XY Data for the Excel table in ArcGIS Pro, it is not giving me an option to select an X field or a Y field.

Why is this?

open the table properties and ensure that the field is numeric (float or double)

I tried setting the field type to Double but then it just doesn't reconize the coordinates. Never tried float. Anyhow I've resorted to manually typing in the coordinates in new columns in Excel. That way it reconizes it as a Double field.

Thanks!
