Hello, I am new to ArcGIS Pro and I am working on a project that requires bringing a CAD drawing of a map with polylines and hatches over to ArcGIS. I have used the CADToGeodatabase tool to import the CAD drawing and from the Catalog panel I right click onto a Polygon/Polyline Feature Class. There I take advantage of the "Add to current map" feature and select the polygon/polyline properties from the contents panel. From there I go to Definition Query (DQ), create a new DQ whereby I set Field as "layer", "is equal to" and select the desired layer. The drawing has roughly 40 layers where for clarity each layer needs to be renamed and this needs to be done twice since there are polygons & polylines so this process is very time consuming. With the high chances of drawing changes and the freedom to experiment with other features I want to automate this process. I have spent quite some time on YouTube and Chatgpt to try figure out a process through the Model Builder but nothing seems to work. From iterating field class, field values and row selection I appear to be missing something key. I am getting confused in the set up and execution of the ModelBuilder and I am looking for some help.
I would really appreciate any advice on the situation. Thanks!
