ArcGIS Pro 2.5: How to resize texts added to layout decently?
I observed that in order to resize texts added to layout, we need to go for long way as shown in the screenshot below.
Is there some straightforward approach in order to resize texts as it is used to be in ArcMap?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Jamal - yes, you can do this quite easily. Select the Layout Text you wish to modify. On the Selection-Format contextual tab in the Text Symbol group, you can easily update the font, font size, bold, italicized and such. No need to go through the right-click properties, Format Text pane to do this.

Many thanks Robert for the help.It works fine with me
Hi again Robert,
I’m not sure we don’t have “design” tab when it comes to “grid” the same way it is available for “scale bar”. Are we forced here to go for “right” click in order to play with the design of the grid?
Jamal - it seems there is NOT a Design tab for grid/graticule when selected on the Map Layout like there is for Scale Bar, etc. Perhaps an ArcGIS Idea is needed here.
Kory Kramer - do you know if AGP 2.6 will have a Design contextual tab for Grid/Graticule text formatting?
In the screenshot, note that you can switch between what you want to work with in the Current Selection group. Depending on what you select, certain elements of the ribbon will light up and allow you to work with that selection (for example, for gridlines, you can change the symbol in the ribbon).
For specific functionality outside of that, yes, I'd recommend detailing that out as a request on the ArcGIS Ideas site.
Thank you!
Thx Kory! I learned something new about the drop and how it affects the Map Frame-Format UI. Great!
Thanks Robert.
This is useful but has no thing to do with the design of the grid. For example, in the screenshot below, how to play with the interval, appearance and visible.
Correct Jamal - not a 1-1 equivalency of the Map Frame->Format tab system to the Format Grid Pane UI. As Kory mentioned, you may want to create an ArcGIS Idea for this item for the ArcGIS Pro Team to review. My suspicion is not EVERYTHING can be moved to the Ribbon. Much has been added to the Ribbon with each release of AGP so we'll see what AGP 2.6 brings us this year. In the meantime, there is a workflow to modify the Interview-Appearance-Visible through the Format Map Grid UI. Just takes a right-click>Properties.
