Update Service Definition Fails with : Success = True

Following the instructions as per:

I also cannot get the Token following the above mentioned paths^

I am Trying to update the service definition of a feature layer:

This is the only service path it gives me:

When I use the "Update Definition" button it allows me to edit the json and tells me that it succeeded.

However the update does not get applied at all.

This example also failed with success = true:
