ArcGIS Maritime continues to expand and enhance its capabilities for managing and producing nautical products with the release of ArcGIS Maritime for ArcGIS Pro 3.6 and ArcGIS Maritime server for ArcGIS Enterprise 12.0.
The biggest news for ArcGIS Maritime with this release is the introduction of the S-100 Exchange Set Editor tool. This tool features an interface for viewing and editing exchange sets in ArcGIS Pro. With it, you can now package, encrypt, and digitally sign S-100 exchange sets.
You can load one or more exchange sets from existing S-100 exchange catalogs and package them together. You can also encrypt the package and attach a single certificate to the entire package of products. Exchange set encryption and digital signatures allow for exchange sets from other agencies to be ingested and authenticated by any ECDIS system with confidence.
This tool is now part of the S-100 Editing tool group on the Maritime S-100 ribbon, available when S-100 layers are present on a map. To complement this new tool, the Export S-101 Cell geoprocessing tool will now create an S-101 exchange set as part of its export.
Another significant update made for 3.6 is new colors for the paper chart color scheme. The previously used CMYK values are updated to reflect the new colors that are recommended by the Nautical Chart Working Group’s Baseline Symbology Project Team. Paper chart products created with ArcGIS Maritime will now align with the BSPT’s goal of uniformity in chart portrayal. These changes are updated in the Nautical.lyrx and ZOCDiagram.lyrx layer files, and the INT1.styx style file that is used to populate the INT2 scale bar that meets IHO specifications.
Symbol layer drawing is also improved, and features with no symbols will draw on top of other symbols.
The product files package includes tools and resources to support the S-124 Navigational Warning production. Chief among them is the Export Feature to S-100 Product tool and supporting files that can be found in the S-100 GML tools folder. Additionally, we’ve included the S-124 feature catalog in XML and interactive HTML formats for easy reference of the S-124 Navigational Warnings specifications. There is also an S-401 feature class subtype mapping XML file in the 3.6 product files package to help you organize S-401 features into common hydrographic themes using subtypes.
Other updates at 3.6 include an optional field added to the Copy S-57 Features tool that allows you to bring the dataset name field attribute over to the copied S-57 features. For more information on new features and enhancements, check out What’s new in ArcGIS Pro 3.6.
For the ArcGIS Enterprise 12.0 release, the ArcGIS Maritime server extension includes several performance enhancements. For Custom Chart Builder, INT2 grids now contain dynamic labels for cardinal directions. Additionally, all preexisting WebApp Builder widgets for the Maritime server extension’s Maritime Chart Service MapServer capabilities are now available as Experience Builder sample widgets.
