What is "Failed to return user store" error?

Suddenly I get the following error when I click users and roles link under myArcGISServer:6080/arcgis/admin/security.

"Error
  Failed to return user store.
Code
  500"

I can't access web manager and map services either. Does anybody know any ways to fix this problem?

The password associated with the account used to connect to the Windows/Ldap directory has expired, or that user is no longer valid. That setting does nto get dynamically updated when the account is updated. Walk through the steps to reconfigure ArcGIS Server to use WinAuth again, and you should be fine.
