What are the dependencies for migrating ArcGIS Enterprise deployment from one AWS region to other?

Hi,

We have ArcGIS Enterprise (10.6.1 Windows) deployment in one AWS region and now we want to move the whole deployment into another region. Can someone please suggest what are the dependencies and / or considerations need to be taken care of? What are the risk involved in this scenario?

Thanks Jonathan for your response. Very useful.

I am following the DR workflow as suggested by you and taken the backup. Unfortunately now facing issue with the deployment in Mumbai region for the version 10.6.1. I have tried using CLI and Cloud formation template, without any luck. Encountering the same issue as described in the following thread:

Will the URL stay the same? If so, you can use CF templates to create your new deployment in the region you want, and use the same FQDN for the site. Your DNS doesn't need to update as the deployment uses the etc\hosts file on the machine to override DNS. Then, once that's done, use the DR tool to bring your content over from your original environment to your new environment.

The workflow falls under a "disaster recovery" type scenario but will work for migration as long as the URLs stay the same.
