We're planning on upgrading our Enterprise to 10.9 or 10.9.1. Just wanted to check if anyone regretted upgrading to 10.9 because of any issues? Or if you'd rather upgrade to 10.8.1 instead?

Thanks!

Most of my clients are quite aggressive in their upgrades.  As a company that's been going for 2 1/2 years, I brought my first clients on at 10.7.1, and they've gone 10.8.1 and 10.9.1.  Not a single client has regretted going to 10.9.1.  My only regret of taking them there is that there have been less patches than at 10.8.1, which means less support/maintenance work!  😉  I'm joking on that last point.  10.9.1 has been a great release and I did my first upgrade the day after it was released!

We went from 10.6.1 to 10.9.1 with no issues at all.

My suggestion is to upgrade to 10.9.1. It has a longer support cycle than a x.x.0 release.

10.9.1 will be better because of longer support. 10.9 expires on 6/1/2024.

Supposing a person has all of the base requirements of a ESRI deployment, is it considered best practice to upgrade versions of Enterprise during General Availability (as opposed to Extended Support)? Based on reading through some of the links above, it doesn't seem like the two support phases are all that different?

AJ_devaccount,

I just wanted to follow-up and see if you did upgrade & how this process went. We are considering the same & wanted to see what we may need to know & how best to prepare.

Thanks!
