unable to connect to arcgis server

Hi

I am able to login arcgis server 10.1 through web based server manager as admin user. If i use same credentials to connect from arcgis desktop 10.1 (catalog), there is error: No resource could be found at that address.

server URL http://xyz.pq.mn.bb:6080/arcgiswebadaptor/admin

server type: arcgis server

please help me

Hi Jaya,

Did you name the ArcGIS Server instance 'arcgiswebadaptor'?  Try the following instead:

http://xyz.pq.mn.bb:6080/arcgis/admin

Thanks for your help.

When I changed the URL as mentioned by you, it works fine.

In fact, arcgiswebadapter is also installed and i used to connect earlier with the URL mentioned in my first post.

Today i faced this problem. Please suggest me is there any problem in connecting through arcgiswebconnector.

When you install the web adaptor, this gives you the ability to connect to ArcGIS Server without having to specify the port number, 6080.  The name of the ArcGIS Server instance, arcgis, will not change.

Connecting w/o web adaptor:

http://xyz.pq.mn.bb:6080/arcgis/admin

Connecting with web adaptor:

http://xyz.pq.mn.bb/arcgis/admin
