The role of the ???ArcGIS web adaptor???,

I couldn???t figure out the EXACT role of the web adaptor!

Many thanks Domenico for the answer.

Then the way we access the �??service directory�?� is the only thing that the Web Adaptor introduces. i couldn't figure out its physical impact on the system (with/without Adaptor)

What are we missing if we don�??t install it?
