Hello all,

I have a project where we to rebuild an enterprise site (10.9.1 Portal and server) that has been taken offline. The big complicating factor is when it was taken down, only the arcgisportal, arcgisserver, and arcgisdatastore folders were copied. Is there any possible way to rebuild the site from those folders?  Thanks!

Hello,

I don't think there is a way to restore from those folder and have complete functionality. The only supported way is to use the WebGISDR tool to export a backup, then import that file with the same tool. This will only work if you still have the same Servers set up with the same hostnames and version of software as the original environment. If you have the same servers rebuilt with the same hostnames, install the software and copy the folders from the old servers, I don't think that would work, and if it appears to work, there might be some things that don't actually work and Esri Support would not be able to provide assistance in making it work.

Thanks Tony. I talked to some more folks at esri and it definitely does not seem possible. We are going to see if we can get the server back online long enough to run the webgisdr utility and migrate from that. But they were not very optimistic about that either.

webgisdr is windows/linux specific as well.  Given that you're on 10.9.1 you could look at moving content without services using the migration strategies discussed here:

There are also other tools:
