Moving from Hybrid Architecture to AGOL

Hi there,
Currently at our Council we have a Hybrid implementation of ArcGIS Server, Portal for Internal and we then replicate the features to AGOL as part of a nightly process. We are using 10.3.1 version.
Current State
Suggested State
Proposed State by Us
We are wondering if it is possible to have a minimal implementation of ArcGIS Enterprise on premise and store all feature services, Web Maps, and Apps from AGOL and what this implementation may look like?
