In 9.2, we would load a custom Registry key ([HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ESRI\ArcMap\TOC\Views) to control what displayed in the Table of Contents in ArcMap (e.g. not displaying the Source tab). It doesn't seem to work the same for 10.2.1. Is this still the right way to do this or is there another way?
Hi William,
Do you mean that you want to hide the List by Source view?
I can see the following in the registry
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ESRI\Desktop 10.2\ArcMap\TOC\Views
I am not familiar with 9.2 but what were you doing to alter this once you got to that location in the Registry?
Hi Katie,
In 9.2, we would load a Registry file that set the values in that Views key. So for regular users, that key would get loaded at runtime to 'hide' the source tab. It doesn't seem to be working the same way in 10.2.1.
In 9.2, we set the following values:
"Name1"="Display"
"Flag1"=dword:00000001
"Name2"="Source"
"Flag2"=dword:00000000
"Name3"="Selection"
"Flag3"=dword:00000001
"Name4"="Graphics"
"Flag4"=dword:00000001
"Name5"="Features"
"Flag5"=dword:00000001
"Name6"="CUs"
"Flag6"=dword:00000001
Where "Flag1" corresponds to "Name1" and dword:00000000 means don't display and dword:00000001 means display.
So in 9.2 we see this in the TOC:
Which is what we expect based on the Registry settings (so no Source tab).
But in 10.2.1, loading the same key values, we see this:
Showing 'List by Source', which we don't want to see. We also don't want to see 'Design Palette':
but that wasn't even an option in 9.2 so not sure what controls that.
So in 10.2.1, what controls the display of icons in the TOC?
In 9.2, Options (now ArcMap Options), had a Table of Contents tab (along with others, as ArcMap Options has). In 10.2,1, the Table of Contents tab is no longer available.
