Dear all,

I am trying to find these files as listed on
http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//0154000005n9000000:

1    <ArcGIS Server installation location>\Support\Instance.log
2    <ArcGIS Server installation location>\server\system\Server.dat
3    <ArcGIS Server installation location>\server\system\ServerTypes.dat
4    <ArcGIS Server installation location>\server\user\cfg (all folders and files beneath this location)
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ArcGIS\Services\web.config (If necessary, adapt this path to your own web server's root location and your ArcGIS Server instance name.)

Where are they in ArcGIS Server 10.1 ? What files do I need to backup in case i want to change server ?

Thanks

The files that you listed only exist in 10.0. The migration checklist suggests that you make a backup of them before you migrate to 10.1. There are a couple of reasons for this. You might want to apply these files if you decide to roll back to 10.0. You can also use them as a reference when setting properties on your new 10.1 services, since you must republish all services at 10.1.

The 10.1 equivalent of these files is the "configuration store", although you should not edit the configuration store files manually.

Hi Sterling,

I found "ServerType.DAT" too in ArcGIS Server 10.1. Should I back this file too during server migration ? This ServerType.DAT was on the list of files that should be backed up from ArcGIS Server 10.0 to 10.1

If you compare, ServerType.DAT in 10.0 and 10.1 are verymuch similar..

Thanks
