ArcGIS Enterprise (Pro 2.8.4): How to disable the automatic saving of edits on enterprise geodatabase feature class?

I couldn’t figure out how to disable the automatic saving of edits on enterprise geodatabase feature class.

Is this by design?

In case of file geodatabase feature class, edits are not saved automatically and requires pressing on the “save” icon.

You would need to register your data as versioned.

Enabling the versioning option for the feature class gets the “save” tool active when edits are made
