If i use external map services as basemap, printing is not working in portal for ArcGIS-4.1.please anyone provide some solution #print option
What error do you get? If you're using a print service from a federated server, take a look at the logs on that machine. If that's the case, if you were to remote into the Server machine as the user running the ArcGIS Server Windows service, are you able to reach the Services URL of the service you're trying to print?
iam getting below logs msgs from server logs. but i can able to reach map service URL.

thanks
At least you know that according to the error code 12007 the server name is not resolving. (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/193625/info-wininet-error-codes-12001-through-12156) Can you ping the server?
i am able to reach this URL & add this map service in the portal-map and it displays..while printing only it gives this error..
thanks
It sounds like the Server machine can't make outbound requests to external resources. This could be an outbound proxy issue or something else. Have you been able to reach the service URL when you remote into the Server machine as the user running the ArcGIS Server Windows service?
yes,i can able to reach Service URL from server machine as the user running the ArcGIS Server Windows service.
Thanks
Have you tested if it works when you disable the server's firewall?
I think you're having similar issues as described here: https://community.esri.com/thread/81811 and the advice by KOGuinn-esristaff sounds like it might help.
