Hi,

I have recently been compiling maps of Iraq on a UTM grid scale, so have been using the UTM grid projection system. However, what projection system and datum should one use when creating maps for the entire country?

EPSG (http://www.epsg-registry.org) lists an ED 1950-based Iraq National Grid. We added it at version 10. It uses transverse Mercator. There's a newer IGRS geographic coordinate system, and 3 UTM zones based upon it, but no national grid. IGRS is close to WGS84, according to EPSG.
