group symbols, publish as map service, users add as feature layer and symbols ungrouped?

Hi all,

I'm using Enterprise 11.1 and Pro 3.2.x. From what I've read, I think the answer to this is 'no' but I would love to be wrong. 

I have a layer that I am symbolizing by grouping blank, <Null>, and 'No' values together to show as a purple dot. I publish that from ArcGIS Pro to Portal as a map service. My users add the layer to ArcGIS Pro as a feature layer by using the URL like https://gis.domain.org/server/rest/services/folder/name/MapServer/0 . 

But when they add it as a feature layer it ungroups them. 

Is there anyway to get the feature layer to not 'ungroup' the symbols? I see the user can regroup them, at least.
