Default Classified Symbology labels 10 Significant Digits?

Why? For who? In what industry?

Please someone help me understand why 10 significant digits would ever be the default for labels when classifying a raster in ArcMap. This has bothered me almost as much as labelling the first mid-point of a scale bar as a default (and probably 10 other defaults).

Is there a way to change this?

Sorry just ranting after changing 100.0000000 to 100 for the 100th time today.
