Hi,

I'm upgrading arcgis enterprise from 10.9.1 to 11.1 starting from Portal. When portal upgrade run successfully the service is not available in Windows Services. Hence portal url is running into error.

I have done the following:

  1. configureserviceaccount.bat:
Failed to determine the state for service: Portal for ArcGIS.
  2. D:\ArcGIS\Portal\tools\postupgradeportal>postupgradeportal.bat:
SLF4J: Failed to load class "org.slf4j.impl.StaticLoggerBinder". SLF4J: Defaulting to no-operation (NOP) logger implementation
SLF4J: See http://www.slf4j.org/codes.html#StaticLoggerBinder for further details.
  3. I have also applied service account permissions to ArcGIS\Portal folder and arcgisportal folder

I was wondering if anyone has encountered this issue.

Thanks

Mehdi

Found the issue. Service account in ArcGIS\Portal folder was not in the security properties. It was somehow removed.
what we did was:

  • Rolled back the Portal machine to previous version
  • Installed the 11.1 version again.
  • Re-adding the service account and granted full control.

That resolved the issue of upgrading the Portal to 11.1
