I'm having connectivity issues since I migrate my database to SQL Azure (Iaas) and try to use the ArcGIS Desktop. Is necessary any additional configuration to avoid the connection problem? Takes more than 50seconds to draw the object to the map.
I'm using ArcGIS 10.5 with SQL 2016
Lourdes - have you been able to find a solution to this issue? We are about to make the jump to Azure and i'm struggling whether or not we need the Azure SQL or if we need to host an instance of SQL server.
Thanks -
Hi Collin.
Arcgis don’t give me any solution to this issue. They said that the desktop is discontinue with the new release of Arcgis and that we have to migrate to use the URL option that provide the new release. For the moment we install SQL on premise for our new release of Arcgis.

Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering if you could expand on this for me?"and that we have to migrate to use the URL option that provide the new release"
Hi Collin,
I was referring to Arcgis Pro. I will attach a document that I found about implementing Arcgis Desktop in the cloud. This is a option if you want to use the desktop, we can not implement this because we have 80 users in our team.
