When editing a layer's symbology in Map Viewer/Web Map in Style options, please add the ability to style polygon outlines with an inward gradient stroke. This would allow the border color to fade inward toward the center of the polygon, without filling the polygon solid.

This is especially useful for parcels, property boundaries, conservation areas, and administrative zones where we need to clearly show that the interior is part of the area, but avoid covering the base map and other layers with a solid fill.
I want to visually emphasize the polygon’s interior as “belonging” to the feature (property). An inward gradient would convey this without overwhelming other map details.

This change would:

  • Improve readability of maps where solid fills obscure important basemap and other layers.

  • Provide a professional cartographic option without creating duplicate “buffer” layers or workarounds.

  • Saves time and keeps data cleaner.

Example:
Imagine a property polygon outlined in red, with the red softly fading inward ~10–20% into the polygon’s width, leaving the rest transparent.
