How to create a video of your CityEngine scene?

I have, already, built my scene and I want to make a video of it. What is the easiest way to make it, do I have to use a 3rd part software? Is there any free and easy-to-use software? Has anyone tried that? I have heard about Maya but I kinda found it a bit difficult to handle that software...

CE exports to 3ds which can be imported by Sketchup.  I believe sketchup is still free, not sure how good the video exports are though.

I think 3D Studio Max is easier to use than Maya - still quite complex though and not cheap.
