Ability to choose geometry type before creating new feature layer in ArcGIS Online

Then I want to create a new feature layer in ArcGIS Online I can choose from a great variety of templates. However, if I want to start a new feature layer from scratch, I would like to choose from geometry types (point, line or polygon) first and then choose a template or create an absolutely empty layer that can be populated with fields I want.
