Sharing Safety/Crash data?

Question

Can someone talk to me about how (if at all) your DOT is sharing crash data externally? Links to any external applications would be helpful. Trying to convince our department to do something similar to Utah (sharing aggregated number of crashes over stretches of roads).

This is a bit dated now, but my state has a very restrictive confidentiality policy regarding this data (despite Federal law that prohibits it from being admitted into evidence) so there are no public facing dashboards with "site specific" information, to include rates or frequency for segments and intersections. Does anyone know of a 50 state comparison of how the DOTs handle this?

DC DOT is currently sharing crash data to the public. We have redacted PII and have attempted to provide a decent summary of relevant attributes. It’s not perfect, but very useful to the general public.
