Add Notes field Feature Class

I need to add a Notes field in several feature classes.

What do you recommend for a Notes field a text field? What size?

Depends- how verbose do your notes need to be? If you can get away with 255 characters or so, just add a field. If you need a lot more, you might consider relating to another table, or even linking to an outside document...
