Tutorial for map-based story map?

Question

Hello, I'm looking for a basic tutorial on the new story map capabilities - I don't want a bunch of flashy examples.  I want to start with a map (in our case a multiuse trail) and build a guide to the trail.  Should be straightforward.  I had partial success with the old 'shortlist' and I'm just trying to figure out how to do it better... it should be easy but everything I click on is a lot of flashy multimedia that's not giving an overview of the toolset and how to use it.  Any suggestions appreciated.

OK thanks - I'll check it out.  Also in the comparison chart it says both old and new "allow story printing"  but I'm not sure exactly what it means (what the result looks like)  and how to do it.  thanks.

Hi Maggie, I think the best option within StoryMaps would be the Guided Tour capability. Here is a blog that explains the capability, and here is a tutorial.
