Is this GIS Developers section where I'd ask/post about Python related items?
I have to admit I am entirely lost on the this new format as it is such a drastic departure from any logical approach to an forum I've been a part of.
There is a specific python section ( Python ) and you may want to check out the Geoprocessing site in the Communities section for other options

I agree. Often times I would end up using the ESRI forums AND GIS SE in conjunction with eachother to get answers and research. I liked them being separate entities. And to be fair, I would often find answers on my own or through SE than through the ESRI forums. I don't see this new format helping that.
I fully agree with the sentiment in the posts. It is like they are trying to do something like stack overflow, but in doing so they have broken the old (working) system. I wish that they would at lest keep the old forum up for a time....
I wouldn't be so quick to label this place a "Forum".
In my case, I'm going to give ESRI the benefit of the doubt and try to work out the new forums.
Problem is, this situation shouldn't happen in the first place! If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

So IOW's, there is no logical "Python forum". I have to search, filter, tag, content, blog rather than just go to a forum specific to python?
When I arrived to the new forum my eyes immediately looked for "Python". Didn't yours? Yes, I am a "GIS Developer" but I would expect a bit more granularity about what it is I am developing.

The discussion "Polar Bears and Their Use as GPS Tools" has been deleted .... it was just plain silly.
It is somewhat infuriating that one cannot edit a post they have already made(or at least I can't figure it out!)

That was his original post and I didn't see anything subsequent to overrule that statement. Easiest way to find posts are by going to the contents tab, then you can search by text. Also, it would help if we follow streams, or people then we can search by who we are following as well.
You can also find topics you have authored, or ones you are following(i.e. you replied to in the past) by selected them over on the right side.

Hi Ian!
I searched my username but none of my old posts show up. Maybe I am doing something wrong?
If I click the "Forums" menu item from the ArcGIS Resources pages it automatically takes me here to GeoNet. I don't see any way to get at all of my old posts!
The old forums did get ported over, if you search content and show oldest date created it has threads from 2009 to present in the new geonet community. I agree though this new format for the forums will take alot of getting use to. Perhaps if they had a forum guide or tutorial posted it would be more helpful.
I don't think they are done with the migration...in the interim, you can still search the old forums, but they are in read-only format

So, I am guessing that all of the posts are gone from the old forums as I don't see anything in the new Python section.
