I am having trouble getting the point to line tool work for points crossing the equator. How do I do this?

I am trying to construct a line from points. I am using the point to line tool under the data management toolbox. However, it is not working. Some of my points are below the equator, and some are above the equator. Is that why it cannot connect the points? Hs anyone run into this issue?? Is there a solution???

Points To Line—Data Management toolbox | ArcGIS Desktop 

Decimal degree data? a projected coordinate system? Do parts of the line appear but not the southern hemisphere ones?  Screen grab and table example would help
