Collector won't Download a map without it being opened first?

I have a map that won't download in Collector without being opened first and allowing it to load - there's quite a lot of layers so it takes ages to load. The features are all hosted on-premise in Server and secured. If I don't open the map first then I'll get messages about invalid tokens. Any way to stop this?

After you click Download in map gallery, have you waited the map to be load before click download? Do your map require sign in to access server feature service?
